«Juego de Tronos», «Veep» y «American Crime Story» cumplen los pronósticos.
Anoche se celebró en el Microsoft Theater de Los Angeles la gala de entrega de los Premio Emmy en su 68ª edición. Conducida por Jimmy Kimmel, la gala convirtió a «Juego de Tronos» en la serie más galardonada de la historia de los premios que otorga la Academia de Televisión Norteamericana, superando a «Frasier». 38 galardones acumulados desde su estreno a falta de dos temporadas por emitirse, certifican a la ficción de HBO como el acontecimiento televisivo de la década.
También estaban cantados los premios a mejor mini-serie para «American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson» y el de mejor comedia para «Veep», con la que su protagonista Julia Louis-Dreyfus alcanzó otro record ganando su quinto galardón consecutivo e igualando a Candice Bergen, única actriz que había logrado cuatro Emmys por el mismo papel en la serie «Murphy Brown». Las sorpresas llegaron en los apartados de interpretación, donde Rami Malek triunfó por delante de auténticos pesos pesados como Kevin Spacey, al igual que Tatiana Maslany, mejor actriz drámatica por «Orphan Black». Ben Mendelsohn se alzó con el premio a mejor actor secundario por su magnífica labor en «Bloodline» y Maggie Smith, como es costumbre, no acudió a otra gala donde su trabajo en «Downton Abbey» volvió a ser premiado.
